I had the same with my bernina V4 It was not competable with windows vista. Had to keep my old laptop for a long time until I could upgrade to V6

I have this machine and everything works with Vista and also Windows 7. Your machine must be attached to your computer and switched on. Update patches for both machine and software are downloadable from the singer site. Hope this helps.

YOU HAVE TO FIRST DOWNLOAD YOUR SOFTWEAR ON TO YOUR COMPUTOR. FIRST PUT YOUR COMPUTOR ON AND THEN YOUR MACHINE. MAKE SURE YOUR USB CORD IS CONNECTED TO YOUR COMPUTOR FROM YOUR MACHINE.
