Welcome!!! Cherry, I LOVE my 1500D! I will add that you should try and get the PED basic also. This will enable you to d/l items without having to hook your machine up to the computer. My DH bought me my PED basic for Christmas, at first I wasn't sure I would like it, but now, I LOVE it. So much easier to work with. The drawback with the 1500 is, even though the machine can hook up to your computer, you can't use a memory stick with your machine. The hook up is not a "flat" jack, but a "square" jack. We were able to find the adapter for the "jacks", but the machine isn't programmed to recognize that. This is why the PED basic works. (only to store what you want to sew). You also have memory pockets in the 1500 which allows you to d/l from computer what you would like to keep in the machine. I think you will enjoy the machine. I certainly have... I'm sorry I can't help you with suppliers in the UK. I'm sure there are others who might be able to give you more info on that...
Also the machine was given as a gift for me to use for family and friends, but it has expanded and I now use it as a part time business from my home.

It's a nice machine especially if you only want up to a 5x7 emb. field. Yo do ave to hook it up to your computer to get patterns not in the machine already but the Ped Basic box mentioned by keeponsewing is well worth the money. The Innovis 1250D is pretty close to being the same machine but has a USB port you can use a travel stick, memory stick (not sure what you call them there. Those sticks are fairly inexpensive and you can get more patterns on them, just put in USB port and open for patterns. It is sewing and embroidery. That way you don't have to take machine to your computer or vice versa and don't need the Ped Basic box. If you only want embroidery and not the sewing side the 750 is a great machine also and has can use the travel stick. Check out brothersews.com and look on the right side. click on the place to look at machines. Emb. only or Emb. and sewing. there also is a place to click on to find a dealer. I work for a dealer and love my Brother machines. Of course you need to find one close to you. I think either of these will make you happy. Just depends on what you want in it. est wishes. I would suggest you get a machine with that takes a USB stick vs. needing a PE basic setup or a direction connection to the computer - much easier to deal with that way (and the only thing extra to buy is the stick). I have the PE780D (embroidery only) and it does that and has a 5*7 sewing field. I would suggest you go no smaller than 5*7 - lots of things you may want to sell in your business could need bigger than 4*4 (especially in the hoop designs). Even bigger would give you more options - not sure of your budget. My dealer said that machine would be fine for a home business (I have 3 million stitches in less than a year and I was worried about it - and I don't have a business - just personal things so far). Think your best bet would be to find a brother (or whatever brand) dealer in your area - a dealer can make a big difference - by looking at the websites of the big sewing machine makers (brother, babylock, janome, viking, etc.).

I have an Innovis 1500D and it goes up to a 6x10 hoop. The three main hoops are included with the machine. I also got a Ped Basic and I really love it. You can store lots of designs on it. I also use a connection from my PC directly to the embroidery machine. Plus, you can store some designs right on the machine. This machine has been a workhorse and I love it!! It does not have a color display but I don't miss that. If you anticipate your business to be huge - I understand the 6 needle machines are the way to go. It would depend on the money you have to start with and the size business you expect to have. Good luck!

You have asked a very wide range of questions with many possiblities for the answers..
I have 4 brother machines..
I began with the PE150 a fabulous machine but limited to its 4x4 embroidery field..
I have since up graded but only for the hoop size.
I also digitize and present my own designs.
so I would like to ask what experience you have in this field..
as this would help us give the best advice.

hello, I'm from holland and I had a brother Galaxi disney 3000. I was pleased with it until I got a Janome MB4 and see what I could do more with it. Now two years later I'm still happy with Janome and because the big machine is difficult to take to an other place I got a MC11000 which is also good. I don't know much about Brother machines except the big ones who are expensive. My advice is ask also other machines before you buy and try them. Ask the dealer if you can make your own design there and think what you will do with it. Lace needs the same in the bobbin as on top and not all the brother machines like that. Make carefull a list and look for all your answers before you buy a machine. Good luck, Yvonne

Hi and welcome to Cute. As Mooie has said where are you in the UK? It is very important to have a good dealer that you trust to buy from. The shop you buy from is very important as they are your lifeline for repairs and servicing. It is possible that you could buy a second hand machine from a dealer at a fair price. I have a Brother Galaxie 3000 and have to travel because of where I live to a dealer BUT it is well worth the effort as the service is BRILLIANT.

Why are you thinking of this particular machine?

Mooie can give excellent advice as she sells her work. You will need to think what you are going to sell and work out costings etc. A Brother Disney machine is fine for home sewing but as the designs are copyrighted you cannot sell work with them on. I also have PE Design which I bought at the same time as my machine. I use it to transfer designs from computer to machine and I can make my own designs with it. If you are producing work for others I would think this is very important. PE Basic is not sufficient. I too am a UK Cutie. Look forward to seeing you here again. Hi Cherry, I bought my 1500D mainly because it will connect directly to my computer and for having the 6x10" hoop. No need for Ped Basic AND I've extended my USB wire connection with two extenders so the 1500D is across the room. I've had the machine for 4 years and so far have not regreted my choice. I was lucky when I bought it, it was on sale, $2999. DOWN from $3999. so ask before hand if the store plans a sale soon! OH, Welcome to the Cute site and I love the machine he he

Whatever you choose...your dealer service, classes and things of this type are the most important choice....we have a Better Buisness Bureau and a state contractors board where you can check to see if any complaints are filed on the buisnesses...If they do not hold up and have to many complaints on them, you may want to stay clear of them and choose another dealer...good luck and WELCOME TO CUTE...check out the above tabs for the software comments and machines reviews...loves deanna
