1 ) I have reduced my photo's size and is now 56.0Kb Is this small enough to upload?

2 ) If I try to upload a photo is there a way I can see that the photo is too big?
This is before I upload it and then notice that it has not been uploaded. I do not want to take more space up by finding out through trial and error
