Remember, you have to have a dongle with the 4D software. It won't work without it. Go through the Smart Update on 4D to download all of the updates for the software. One of them is an update for use on the Window 7. Be sure to extract/execute in order. I believe the sewing machine has to be registered also and maybe the software. You may want to contact a Viking dealer to see exactly how to go about it.

Yes, the software is registered so you would have to have the registration information to be able to use it. Not sure if it's transferrable or not. Good luck

I had a very hard time with my Viking and my Brother when going from XP to new computer and Windows 7. It took me soooo long to get it all working together. I Pray for you. Do the Update and Claa tech for help. Thats what I had to do. Even Viking store local could not help me. Hugs, Judy
