I took my Brother in to have the needle threader adjusted and the service guy said Organ needles were just the tiniest bit shorter than Schleip or Klasse and they often cause threading problems and raveling problems during sewing!! Those were exactly the problems I was having. Now I have about 30 Organ needles left. Anyone want to buy them - cheap? Sizes 11 and 14

I love organ titanium needles. What do you normally use? Maybe he was trying to sell you what he had in stock!!

Yes, the shank on the Organ needles are shorter. They are meant to be used with Janome machines, which require the shorter shanks.

That's probably why I have never had a problem with them. Carol

oooooo....so the organ needles are like Janome blue tips? My Janome sewing machine wont sew nicely with anything but the blue tips.

Yes, I do know that the wrong length shank causes missed stiches even among older sewing machines.
Ideally use the needle recomended for your particular brand of machine. Bernina is also a fussy fit for needles.
It all has to do where the eye and the thread catches the bobbin hook, and at a fast pace it must be spot on.

Interesting information. I use Schmetz in my Brother but good to know in case I thought about trying something different later!

I have a package of them and several packages of Schmetz. I don't pay attention to which package I grab a new needle from, but I sometimes have trouble with the treader. I wonder if this could be why! I'll pay more attention next time. Thanks for asking this question.

I have a Brother Innovis 700E, and it came fitted with an organ needle, and 3 spare Organ needles.
Maybe its certain Brother models that don't like them.
I also use Janome Blue tip.

I use Organ needles from Allstitch in my Janomes as well as my Pfaff (workhorse). I had some trouble with Schmetz years ago due to the threader not lining up and those were also lots and lots more expensive! Have heard there are not as many manufacturers as there are brands of needles, as well.
