Jan. 2011, I am an advid crochet lover and have done some very lovely pieces so several years ago I decided that as long as my eyes and hands are still good that I wanted to make crocheted doilies for each of my grand children and their first homes when they marry.

After collecting three pieces or sets, I washed and blocked each piece then folded them in acid free paper and placed each set in a 100% cotton bag for storage.

I also took pictures of me presenting a piece to each of the children and that picture is in the bags as well as washing information for the crochet yarn. Then I made simple applique tags with text and the year.

I just hope my grand children will understand the value of these gifts!!

My goodness Dolly - what a lovely gift for each of your grandchildren - if they don't understand the value of it now - perhaps the person that they do eventually marry will. I love the pictures and the tags, as well as the lovely gift of your hand crochet - it is so special and should be treasured. *4U

How pretty Dolly. What an heirloom to pass down to your family. I know they will eventually appreciate the love and sweet gesture and the HOURS that went into making these. Hugs, Terre
