I had planned on doing a lot of sewing over the next few weeks while my hubby was gone now I am doing a hand embroidered wall hanging instead :( my eyes are not good (it's an age thing) LOL tech said 7-14 days before I get it back. Which I guess I'm lucky because if it had been before the holidays would have been a month or more. The cost is not fun either almost $400 thank goodness he's working LOL

Isn't it awful! I have just brought my machine in for a service Also 14 days! I am unable to do hand embroidery due to arthritis in my thunb joint (also age related although worsened by a bad break) Luckily I still have my simple straight forward sewing machine so I can sew my quilt together. Hope your machine will be mended soon.

I was able to sew the blocks together before it went into the shop and I am doing applique embroidery it's for next xmas LOL starting real early this yr.

It is a bummer!! The machines almost become an extension of us, don't they? I just got mine back from an annual check up, haven't used it yet, but it is comforting to know it is there.....

yes I would feel better knowing it was in my sewing room not in the shop, it has only been there since Thurs but seems like a month already

Mine too Michele, took it in last Thursday coz the screen kept going out of line and calibrating it brought only a temporary fix as it would jump back in then I'd have to calibrate it again.
I have no idea how long mine will be. last time it was gone for 10 months!!!!

Oh, Meg, I couldn't handle that!!!! 10 months is unforgiveable!!
10 months? what are they making the machine all over again? that's way to long glad I have my tech guys they are usually 7 days depending on what they have going on. Mine wouldn't even calibrate or anything, the only thing it would do is stitch straight couldn't even set stitch lenght though.
Hope they don't take that long again. Keeping my fingers crossed for you

What a bummer, I hate those expensive repairs.
Mine was a bit dodgy too - I had to restart the machine at times - so I brought it in to have it serviced, and as the screen was in stock I could get it back the same day. Cost me €80 plus the cost for the yearly service, no extra for fitting the screen as they had the machine open anyway. Works fine again.

Just stopped no warning at all. the part is $259 alone the rest is for the repairman to fix which if I could by the screen myself I would have done it. but being a viking they don't sell parts have to go to the dealer.

This is a interesting post. The screen went on my machine a while ago - August. Like Meg I was unable to recalibrate it. I took my machine to my dealer in Oct - I live a 2 our journey away. It cost me £100. It is back with me now and fine. Hope you dont have to wait too long for your machine

I agree seems like they get to charge what ever they want. I am at their mercy, the only other dealer near me is almost a 2hr ride and they are only the next town away.

thank you, yes I know she will be home but the thought of her away saddens me, no embroidering for a while. I had a few projects that needed to be done and had planned on doing them this week now are being held off. My DIL was bumming she wanted her new seat cushions done but she has to wait for my machine to come back
