I have a couple on my site.
For a boy there is a Silhouette Surfer and a Scuba Kid, and for a girl, a Mermaid. And for either there is a duck float(Toys 003).

I know this isn't answering your question, but I always put the child's name or initials on the towel, along with a cute design (maybe of a fish or sealife) since the towels often get misplaced at the pool or swim club.

I did little face towels for a grand daughter's pool party using a "water like font" & just put "Pool Party" and the date. The font was cute. I'll see if I can find it again & if I marked where I got it!!

I put Raeleigh's name on her bag I fixed her last year and added some flip flops. The bag was peach and I used varigated matching thread for her name and then added the sandals in matching colors. It started out to be a beach bag but changed my mind about Beach items only because I figured she would go to the pool alot more. She also uses it to take her things back and to when she visits her Dad on the week-ends. Rae-Rae is my 6 yr old great granddaughter. She is 100% Girly-Girl! She is our little Diva, 6 going on 13! Her Mom is very lucky! Rae-Rae has the personality of an angel 99% of the time. When she comes home on the week-ends, she now wants to stay with her Daddy. He is engaged to a very nice lady that has a daughter that is only 1 1/2 and the girls love each other. The step-mom to be, takes up alot of time with the girls and has gotten Rae-Rae interested in all kinds of crafts! She even got a child's Singer Sewing Machine for Christmas this past Christmas. She is so grown-up and listens to what you say and I would not even be sfraid to start her on an embroidery machine.

There are several animals with water as you page down on this site. These have to do with applique. The second on is a boy with a life preserver. The last link is on how to do applique. I know she has others on her site. Good luck.

I believe there were some emobssed designs on cute this last summer and one had the word "SWIM" emossed. I put it on a towel for my daughter who does open water swims.
Sorry I don't know how to find it. Maybe the cutie who designed it would repost it. Thanks

It is easier to recover your towel with a name or initials. Try to find out what the little one likes or is interested in and her favorite color.

I see you have a lot of suggestions. My only comment would be ... if this is for someone who goes to public places, I do NOT like to put their entire FIRST name on it ... maybe an initial. I hate to be overly concerned, but I get nervous with strangers knowing my children's REAL first name. What about a nick-name or something like that?
