I had a chance to sew this weekend...in between getting income tax numbers ready to take to the accountant...ughh! Still need another weekend to finish that project! :) This little toddlers backpack was inspired by my Sunflower Challenge purse that I made last weekend. I love this bag design and thought about how it might work up into a backpack. The straps are NOT adjustable...but rather, a simple, padded strap, easy enough for small arms to manage. The backpack was worked around the center piece, which is a sew-out sample of a design that I digitised last year, shortly after purchasing Embird. It is embroidered on a piece of denim from a skirt I bought at Goodwill. For almost a year now, I wondered what I'd do with this stitch-out! I was quite happy with the final project. I think I will hold on to this one for my little niece, Isabel. It is just the right size to hold a bottle, diaper or two and some wipes!

That's a very pretty backpack. You did a great job on it. Do you have a backpack pattern?

thanks...but no pattern. I just started from the butterfly applique square in the center and worked around that until I was finished! I love making bags of all kinds....and never really use any patterns.
