If it is on ready made you have a few choices. You could baste enough fabric on to be able to hoop or use a sticky stabilizer making sure to match the bobbin thread with the underside of the collar. Make a FSL design or a patch and hand stitch on. If it is new construction lay your pattern piece out and mark the cutting line but don't cut it out. Figure out how much you need to hoop and then made your design and cut out the pattern piece for construction.

Hi there, I have the very small hoop for cuffs and collars. Which makes it easy to work with.
Or just hoop your paper stabiliser and use temporary spray adhesive. Now place your cuff or collar onto it and stitch away. This works very well. For things that can't be hooped. Hugs Yvonne

You do not say if it is on a ready made garment or one in the making. Either way I do this a lot and I always do what has been suggested by Yvonne - hoop the stablizer and then stick the collar/ cuff on to the stablizer. Good luck with your project. Sarah.

Similar to others, I hoop sticky stabilizer and stick the item to the stabilizer so it is in the right place to sew out (using the template to mark the item so it gets in the right place).
