Huh? You have to pay with points?

i know it's strange! Now we have to collect points to get designs. I spend a lot of time on line and i'm not about to go collecting points for a dsign i "might" use one day. I might be just a little grumpy...lol
by smithandsmith 26 Jan 2011
thank you , i'll try again
by smithandsmith 26 Jan 2011
i still don't see where the free hourly design is. It now reads "hourly sale" not hourly free. Where do i find the 49
thank you

I went there earlier today and everything was normal. I just saw the changes. It appears they are no longer offering their hourly free design.

I tried to get a design and paid the 2 points and it took me to the download for it I pressed on my format and didn't get the design. Something more to get aggravated about.

This USED to be one of my favourite sites. Why are they making these (not for the better) changes? I have spent quite a bit of money there as a result of hourly freebies, but I am not going to collect points!

I also thought it was confusing. Found the place to purschase with points but never was able to get the hourly one without using points. Guess it will take some time to figure out the site!

Went back to DBS and found this new pricing note:
New Pricing Scheme - Dynamic Pricing
You may have noticed that the pricing of sets are "all over the map". Pricing of design sets is now based on the popularity of the set over the past month. The more popular, the higher the price up to $7.99. The less popular the price will drop down to $1.00

The system looks at the position of each set in the top 1000 for the past week and the past month. The closer the set is to the top of either list, the higher the price.

The system does this looking at 2 am every morning and sets the prices for the day

What does this mean? Well...

. when a new set is released it will sell for $1.00 for the first day! Why? Because it is not on either of the 2 top lists yet!
. there will be a lot of off season $1.00 sets due to lack of interest
. happy hour will drop these down to $4.98 to $.50 sets per set
. we can now have sales based on a percentage (like 50% off), the pricing will adjust by itself, rather than having one fixed price for all the sets
. I think that's it.

If you check everyday you can get new released sets for $1.00 is what I figured out. Strange marketing strategy.

I don't have points and I am not going to sit around waiting for things to happen so I think Sick won't be seeing much of me now. I don't care much for hunts but I get one now and then. This new thing is just stupid.

It's a pain in the derriere! LOL!!!

At least if you go and find three designs (you really want) and vote for them every day, you will earn three points towards purchasing the hourly sale designs.
Then all you have to do is wait until the hourly sale design (you want) gets cheaper (points reduce every hour I think) so eventually each design will go right down to 3 or 4 points then you purchase the ones you want.

Easy Peasy, unless of course the design you want to purchase with points doesn't get cheap enough until after you've gone to bed! LOL!!!
hugs n gumnuts, Meganne

lol... yes a pain in the butt and in the head.
by workbecky 27 Jan 2011
It won't let me sign in. I asked for my username and password, they were sent and now the log in page tells me invalid. If it takes this much work I will just quit going there. Becky
by iris2006 29 Jan 2011
I agree with Becky, always troubles and changes I don't go there anymore

Even after requesting my password the log in page tells me invalid password. I don't have much free time and this takes too long. I guess it will be my loss and DBS as well. I don't go to Artistic Threads either since their change. Becky

I guess I will not be visiting their web site too often. Do not know what they are thinking. I cannot believe this change will mean more sales for them. It just turns the public off. Hugs, Mary

Well it appears they will be losing A LOT of customers! I used to visit that site a lot too but since I found THIS LOVELY group I didn't go as often (as time is limited on the pc for me), so I don't think I WILL MISS it so much! I LOVE IT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks! Kathy

Yes, Designsbysick has been going thru many changes. The more they change--the less I want to be there. All of this just shows me how smart our Ms.V. is (which I have known for along time) because of spending time at her sites. She has all of her sites set-up thinking of us and our ease of use. All the other sites I have visited seem to just think about themselves and how to make there sites more complicated for the average user. I guess they think this makes them look more intelligent. NOT!! I do not know of any sites better then Ms.V.'s. She seem to live by the old saying--IF IT'S NOT BROKEN-DON'T FIX IT. H&*

I go there from time to time. When I want to find hourly and the hunt I click on the tab that says home and go to summary page and it shows them like used to kinda. All these add ons do tend to drive many away. Time is precious and flustrations to many these days, lol. X and * for you.

Hey Lee, I purchased two hourly designs today, it cost me 12 points for one and 8 points for the other, (I couldn't wait any longer for them to get cheaper)
Anyway that was a total of 20 points.

So I voted for three designs for the next daily design, (3 points) then I visited Sick on facebook (10 points), then I clicked on another chat thingy for 1 Point, so that gave me back a total of 14 points.

Next time I want to purchase the hourly sale design I'll be patient and wait until it gets right down to 1 point before I buy it, that way I'll be able to balance my points.

The information on how to earn points is all to be found at the link below.....

One of the new changes is that you have to log on everytime you go there. Also the free hourly design is gone and been replaced by an hourly sale design which will cost 24 points initially and decrease by one point each hour. It is a dumb system in my opinion, but then who asked me?

Been to Sick. It is so confusing. I don't like it. Didn't like it before, but now it's awful. Used to check out the designs during the day. Now I don't care whether I do or not. Lost my vote.
