I will add that when pressing don't flatten too much, rather use the steam and pat method,the texture is there to be seen. Also no need to stretch in the hoop, hoop so fabric is flat and relaxed in it's natural drape.

I don't feel the need to iron. I use wss on top and a cut away on bottom. Once design is finished I trim the cut away within 1/8 of an inch. It helps the design stay nice after several washings. I also do not hoop the towel. I use a little spray and then a fix stitch.

I love those waffle weave towels. I've found the best success doing this: Wash those towels and dry them really dry. Don't iron them. Hoop that sticky, peel away stabilizer with some heavy weight tear away under that. Tear away the top paper and place the towel on top of that without hooping it. Don't stretch it out, but don't bunch it up either, just how it will lay naturally when you are holding it. Then I put on something like sulky solvy on top. So, I have three different stabilizers. Bottom layer is heavy tear away, next is peel and stick (then towel on top of that) then wss clear topping. When I am finished stitching my design I tear away and melt away. Then I use the pressing cloth and press only from the back. I give it a few blasts of steam. They turn out soooo nice and stay nice and don't shrink out of shape. I also only use poly thread as I find the rayon shrinks for me. Hope that helps.<br />BTW - where do you get your waffle towels? Are they microfiber? I really like good old plain old cotton.
