This is a hankie that I made for the family when my husband's uncle died. I was unable to get out and purchase the hankies so made them from batiste that I had at home, serged the edges, and did the embroidery.

I did 10 1/2" squares. I had never done them before, and have not done them since. But, thinking about doing special guest towels this way.

Yes, the design is from Heirloom Alphabet by Martha Pullen, from the Husgvarna designs collection, embroidery 9. I had it for a while, but never really used it. I thought it really looked nice, so used it.

Looks great,I too have made my own hankies with an embroidery on it out of batise but have added lace to the edges...You really have to serch to find the right lace......Cowgirl
