great idea love old bone china tea cups. one year for mother day in honor of my granny I went to a small nursing home where I worked took tea cups that I got from resale shops not matching just pretty ones bought roses and carnation from wallmart some greenery and had a tea party flower arrangment activity for the ladies one's that could helped and other watch and then we put them on the tables in dineing room and had a tea party with the family for mothers day it work out well and I was surprise at how they reacted to the old cups the story's I hear that day about when they had cups like that how they got them for gifts and with purchases

yep, this is recycling or just keeping a memory alive in another capacity.....I think you did a great job gluing the cup and fixing the part to fit into the cup. thanks for sharing your idea....

I'm a very sentimental person (ask my husband) I don't throw anything out. Everything I own has a use for something. HEHEHE. Just use your imagination and you are in business. Your teacup is very tastefuly done. Smart move!

Hey It is important to you...you like it ! I have done things like that before on things I liked and could not bring myself to throw out. I just finished gluing my hubbys favorite coffee mug he chipped near the handle. He is drinking his coffee again in his cup and happy. What more can you ask for? I think you were right to keep it and recycle it. I am very sentimental too. My daughters are not supportive too. When the two of them come to my house they clean and toss and I just have to stand back. Don't tell them but sometimes when they are not looking I go throught the boxes and bags and un-declutter. You won't spill my secret will you. :) Becky

What a wonderful idea. It is far too pretty to throw away and now you can use it for something else. I love china and have a collection of my mother's small coffee cups and saucers.

My Mother used to tell me that it was a mighty poor object that had only one use. This just proves it right one more time. Very nicely done and you made a useful object out of what would have been trash. Good for you!!! It is lovely.
