Perhaps they have been given a deal to use that thread or that chart is easier for them to use as a color chart. Why don't you pose that question to the Debra at Emblibrary and see what she says. Veronika doesn't usally answer many of our post - but we will see if she notices this one and answers for you. *4U

Most of my thread is Coats and Clark.....I have approx. 25-30 zpool of Madeira and about 20 spools of Metro.....I like them all....the Metro has a nice sheen and is very inexpensive.....I have to put Metro on a thread stand and now I use the thread stand for all my thread.....I bought what I found first.....I have a Janome 350E in casse that helps....blessings Janet

I have a Viking Designer 1 machine and I have been wondering about Metro thread so thank you for the info!
I have some Metro thread and love it. It has tons of different colors and it can be found for just $.75 USD per spool! I have Florianni poly and it is wonderful, but really, the Metro has more colors and sews just as well - no kidding. Be sure to keep all threads out of the sun.

Not sure that Madeira is THE best thread but possibly it is the thread which is most widely available in different countries.

Maderia thread is not that available here in Arizona USA. I had to order it on line from Joann's

I don't know why that is Dawn, but my machine hates madeira, I use the madeira color chart on DBC because I about have the numbers memorized by now and the Isacord thread, which is what I use the most, is not listed.......

I loved anchor threads, they had a lovely range of colours, but 2 years ago they stopped stocking it in the shops around us, Now I use Madeira as this is widely available. I still have some anchor, which I use on small projects.
