Hi "CUTE" family, my top thread keep breaking, I have check everything and can not figure out what is going on, I am doing FSL and I want to do this one worry free. HELP? Loretta

You may want to change your needle if you do not have a new one in there. It is also recommended that your bobbin thread is the same as your top thread, I too am doing a FSL project and my bobbin messed up tonight. Too tired to fight it, so am giving up for the night. Good luck with yours. *4U

Dealers recommend changing the needle after 8 hours of use.

May be wrong size needle or when you threaded you forgot to raise the presser foot so the tension would be released.

what machine do u have? i have the brother automatic threader and i love it my very first one i ever owned besides my little holly hobbie my granny bought me when i was 8 and when she passed the family gave me her sewing machine an 1979 singer she was a quilter herself *4u
I have a Husqvarna, I have had it almost two years and I haven't used it very much, until recently. I have been really ill. But I am taking advantage of my daughter living close and she and I are working on getting me back into embroidery work.

Hi Loretta, This happened to me with my first FSL & i discovered if i lessened the needle thread tension it stopped breaking. I have since bought a better quality White thread & 'fabric' WSS and that works far better than the film type which was breaking up and clogging the needle then would shred the thread.

Meganne, thank you, I am unsure how to lesson the thread tension, I guess I will have to read my manual, I have never had this much trouble before with any FSL. Eeeeeee. A flower for your thoughtfulness.

Oh, loretta, I do hope you got your problem solved. I have had this happen and what it usually means here is that the operator is too tired!?!? I do so hate to see you all frowned up, just rest tonight, put in a new needle and clean up that bobbin area and I'm sure it will go well tomorrow for you. ;)

jrob, I don't know that I got it solved, but I did finish my FSL Sachet Bag, go to the projects and take a look. You know you just might be right, I could have just been tire, I was tired of all those breaking threads. HaHa. A flower for you.

Hi "CUTE" family, thanks for your help, I don't know what I did or didn't do, but once the design got past that first set of rows, it started behaving. I finished my FSL Sachet Bag and you can go take a LQQk at it in the project pages. A flower for each of you and thanks for your support and concern.

Oh Loretta, I am so sorry to hear that you had difficulty today with your thread breaking - I would suggest that with a new FSL design - you just have patience. If after you got past the initial layer of stitching and your thread stopped breaking - perhaps you needed more stabilizer for this design? *4U
