pleasant behavior I guess you can say, just doesn't know where she is going half the time. Trying to keep things as simple as possible and in a routine. That is the key with most patients with these disease. It is sad to see one you love like this. She is says please thank you and after a week has called my youngest two by name. That was tough at first for them. Just say a prayer for us cause we need it! I miss being on and seeing and hearing what's going on in our Cute world. Be on here as much as time allows.

Sara, I had noticed that you weren't on lately. So sorry for what your MIL & you and your family are going through. I'm sure it isn't easy caring for someone with her condition. My GM had Alzheimer, so I know how sad it is. Just trust the Lord for strength & patience for this time in your lives. You will be in my thoughts & prayers. Jane

Sorry to hear your MIL has these terrible diseases. Being her caregiver will be a life changing adventure in the lifes of your family. Will be praying for guidance, as well as strength and patience to get you all through each day. Cherish the days when she is herself as they will become less frequent to non existent. Hugs, Karen

Have been around many people with Alzheimer's from where my mom lived in a building of senior private apartments. Spent some time talking to several of them and from moment to moment what they remembered would change. Just learned to listen to what they wanted to talk about and went with their thoughts at those moments. When the Alzheimer's person couldn't manage on their own or started to wander they would ask the family to come get them. Had a family friend who's father went missing for three days so they had ID tattooed to his wrist since he would cut all the bracelets and tags off and they put alarms on the outside doors. Wishing you prayers and all the strength needed to keep up with her needs.

Hi Sara, I know what you are going through. My Dad just died on Father's Day (September 5th here in Australia) as a result of Alzheimer's Disease. It is a dreadful thing to watch your loved one just fade away. I just kept repeating things over and over again with him and he'd laugh, sometimes got angry, so I'd make light of it and we'd cry together too. All these emotions I'm sure you've been through too, so my prayers and thoughts are with you. Unfortunately, it won't get any easier, but you have your faith, family and friends to support you. Love and blessings Chris

At this pint she is very kind, I guess you would say, it is just hard when the child becomes the caretaker and you keep repeating how to use the walker, she forgets where her bed is and sometimes the bathroom. I pray that I can do this for awhile who knows.

Being a caregiver is tough, and it takes special people to do it. Remember you must take a little time for yourself. God Bless You!
