Instead of watching the Superbowl - I sewed. Saturday night, embroidered the front....the design is from Embroidery Library and is the Damask Rose. It had close to 26,000 stitches, so it took awhile, but sure stitched out nice! I stitched it on a placemat - as I needed something "red" to match the fabric in the purse. So, Sunday night, I sat down and cut this purse out and finished it up. I love it...love the lining ($1.00/yd at Walmart...I bought the whole bolt!)...love the color combo...and just LOVE that design! For the back, I used the rest of the placemat for a pocket and added a piece of the lining for detail. I "think" this will be mine...but who knows, might end up at the Farmers Market this summer with the rest of them!

Our Walmart fabric lady, actually told me that our store is KEEPING everything - AND going to put more fabric and craft stuff back in! You should check with your store - I wonder if those Walmarts that have taken out fabric - might be putting it back in?

Very nice. I can see why you would want to keep it but it would also be a great one to sell. You might be able to auction it to the highest bidder. lol. I will ask at Walmart about fabric. Maybe they just need to have an interest shown. JoAnns and Hancocks are just not convenient when I need something in a hurry.

thanks...it's going to be hard to part with, so maybe your auction idea is the best way to do it! Read what I wrote above about Walmart...maybe there is hope! The closest JoAnns is more than an hour away for me...so Walmart is much more convenient for me, too. Plus, I spend WAY too much at JoAnns! he he

We only have one or two WalMarts that still sell fabric. Most are taking them out, and I don't think that they fabric that they now have is as nice as it once was. But, it is the only place in this area that is close to go grab something. But, you did a great job with this - I ws messing with something else beside the Super Bowl Too. LOL

thanks! you know, the lady at Walmart who cuts fabric, told me that our Walmart was going to be getting MORE fabric in! Seems Walmart has figured out that they did wrong by eliminating the fabric dept...or downsizing it! She even told me yesterday, they were going to get the paints (fabric) back in. I bet Walmart got bombarded by ladies who were very upset with what they had done. Our store is ok...but I agree, the fabric isn't as nice as it could be...or once was.

I love this! Red is my favorite color. I would love to have one just like this! Well, almost! I am so used to having a huge bag so I can carry meds, and my bandages for my legs as well as all else I carry that I would have to take another bag for my "junk" I have to carry. I also take a bottle of water everywhere with me. My son calls me a bag lady! This design is just as pretty as any expensive boutique bag I have ever seen! You did a very professional job with this!

the Superbowl is our big, final football game here in the US. Most women are very happy to finally make it to the Superbowl...because then, we know football is done for the season!
