I know you will enjoy having the extra time for family, sewing and I'm sure you will come up with other things to do....may your days be filled with the blessings of life.

Daughter has court case on Monday regarding the car accident when the lady hit her family head on and took her partners life. Think she is getting charged. She fell asleep. It has been just over 2 years now. I won't go (Rockhampton) will stay home and have her daughters with me as Lotus now is in Prep one and Indy started Kindy this year. They all still miss their Daddy.
And so do John and I. Anyway I know life does go on.

Welcome to retired life! Keep busy with stitching and the little one, it will get boring after a while. I am tired of trying to find things to do outside the house and can't wait for warm weather! Going to be about -4F. Cccccoooolllldddd!

Congratulations to you. I would love to retire but I have a few more years since I just turned 59 today I have to wait until at least 62, to get my pension. I sure envy you...I have 20 years to go and when i say that, its more depressing....I would love to be able to afford to retire and just live simple...But since I am the one right now working, it will have to wait....CONGRATES CHRIS...

Well - it sounds great. I am still working, but I am a lucky one, for I work from my home. Most days I can get up and get my Work done, and then do some things that I want to do. Plus I no longer have to travel the highways to get there. My company has been good to me, and I will probably work as long as I can benefit them. It does help to have the extra coming in, and just hope that I will be able to continue with this. How lucky you are to be with the babies, and close to you Mom. Blessings to you.

Chris, more than likely you will need all the extra time to do the things that will be coming your way in the next year or so - I wouldn't say you are retired - that never happens anyway. You will have little Ophelie with your and that will take up alot of time - stitch when you can - enjoy your Mum and do whatever you can fit in - time will fly by. *4U

Chris, it is really hard for mothers to leave their children but Amy knows Ophelie is going to be well looked after especially with her Nan (grandma). Congrats on your retirement. I am looking forward to that day...Hugs Sally

I retired in '95, and have much to keep me busy, but I have truly missed being in the workforce along with the best gang of co-workers ever! When I first retired, I enjoyed doing things
with my two grandchildren. They were ages 3 and 5 and lived
a few miles away. For the past ten years, they have lived about
80 miles away, so I have not had the time with them I will have
thoroughly loved! Now they are teens and their time is consumed by the normal activities of school, ballgames, friends, etc. Enjoy them as much as possible; they grow up TOO quickly! Best wishes for a Happy retirement to you!!

I had to retire due to physical problems from an automobile accident, but now I wonder how I EVER fit in working during the day!!!!!

Stay as busy as you want and enjoy your time with your family and grandkids.

Chris! Welcome to the Retired world... Now you will see how busy we retiree's are. WHEW! When did we EVER find the time to do what we do now, when we were working. You will stay so busy you will have to retire from being retired. hehehe....

You Know that once you retire and also get older, they (whoever they are)take away hours from each day. You just never achieve in the day, what you used to do while you were working -OR do we just get slower?

Chris, I worked 'till I was 70 & would probably still be if my hubby had not needed me to stay home with him. I love geriatric nursing & still keep my RN license. It will be good through my 75th birthday. I miss it & would probably still be working if I could. Now I stay so busy with keeping the Great Grandson Caleb who will be 3 29th of April & his Mom is expecting a little girl in May. Since his mom & dad teach school I'll be free for the summer but then come Aug. Caleb will go to pre-school & I'll have the new Abby. Of course they live walking distance from me & with the pool caleb will probably be here in & out all summer. I guess I am a lot slower than I use to be because I am always backed up with things to be done. Just not enough time in the day. Now all I here is "G.G. play with me" from Caleb so I do not get a lot done during the 9 or 10 hrs a day I have him. too, I am trying to get things made for the new baby.Hope retirement is grand & glorious for you.
