Can any one help please, I have a Brother Inovis 900. I would like to get a larger hoop 16x10cm, but the machine will not inport the larger designs. Do I need new software?.

I have a different one, the 190D, which has a 10 x 0 sewing field. I bought the 10 x 17 hoop as well, but the machine only recognises 10 x 10 designs. So you can use the larger hoop to combine designs, say an embroidery in the top part, move the hoop and do lettering in the lower part. OR you need to split a larger design in 2 parts, using software. PED basic can't do that, you need PE7 or some other software. I use Embird to do it.

I am afraid, that you have to buy another machine with larger possibilities.

Maximum sewing field for this machine is 3.9 X 3.9. No way to change it except trade in the machine on one of the more expensive models, about $1,000 more than the cost of the 900 will jump you up to the next size which is about 5 X 7; and it just keep going up from there.

Thank you. I will have to learn how to split the designs.
