I have turned my spare bedroom into a storage room for my quilting frame and so much fabric I can't walk through there. I had my dining table moved into the garage (we didn't use it very often anyway) and put in a large folding table to do all my sewing. Of course, there are boxes of fabric and embroidery assessories sitting all over the floor there too. There are threads and scraps all over the floor. I try to clean in there at least once a month (wheather it needs it or not!). LOL I'm an old woman who will never live long enough to use up all these treasures, what on earth will my daughter do with all my goodies when I'm gone? LOL

Who are you hurting? My guess is that your stash gives you comfort.
If your daughter is concerned with what to do with the fabrics, once you have passed....
Easy. Donate to your church... The fabrics can be used to create many things for many people...
Or used to create quilts that can then be raffled for the benefit of the church or some other organization.
Win - Win.
Meanwhile.... DO work on sticking around.

I am with you. I have 2 shelving units stuffed with fabric, etc. My sewing room is full but organized. And I am not running into town to try to find what I need when I need it. I do have to keep things under control because we move often. If we are overweight we pay a large anount on each pound.

I have told my daughters, that when I go, and they have to deal with my "stash" (at least 10,000 yd of fabric) to just say,,,,,"This made Mom happy,,,this made Mom happy!"

I recall my youngest daughter who is now 38, being quite
upset that I had turned HER bedroom into my sewing room. Now, it is important to know she had not lived at home since she was in her early twenties!! LOL I assured her that on the few occasions she decided to stay a day or two, that I could find her a spot to sleep! From looking at all my embroidery supplies and fabrics stacked everywhere, I think she has realized HER space is now MY space! Oh, the PAIN of growing UP!! LOL
