my own candles and soap. I have spent the entire day driving around and googling to try and find a local shop where I can buy the things I need to do this and I can't find anything within a half hour radius of where I live. I can buy it all on line but I really wanted to smell and feel things so I could decide what I needed. If any Cuties on the south side of Brisbane know where I might find such a shop can you please let me know.

hello Alice You can get fat from the butcher, or olive oil from the supermarket and caustic soda from the supermarket or hardware.
For candles try aparist suppliers, there is one in Brisbane, paraffin wax and wicks you can probably get from craft shops.

Alice, Health foods shops for wax, chemists are quite a good place to start...when living on outback station I used health foods shops, I was making ointments, face cream etc...Spotlight perhaps for wicks they possible have paraffin wax...I used online places for essential oils for smell...Hugs Sally
