Having paged through Projects, there seems very few Valentine designs compared with the Sunflower challenge. Any reason for this?

Valentine's Day isn't a big thing here in UK. We tend to have only one valentine each! If this is the same in other countries it could explain why there aren't as many projects.

Hi Sue, I think it is fairly big in USA.
I am going to make something, even so. Good for the mind!!!!

Maybe not as many projects because a specific design was not chosen. Too many options!!!!!. Valentines Day is not big in Australia, although its popularity has increased in recent years. I took the challenge as a February Challenge and emb Christmas napkins for my 7 G'kids.

As I said to Sue - I think it is a USA thing. Not much of it here in SA either.
My DH says it is too much of a commercial thing!!!

I suppose there are several reasons:
* it was very soon after the sunflower challenge
* there wasn't a special design to use
* valentine is very populair in USA but it isn't everywhere

Hi Sarah, I did not manage to do this challenge, as I have been trying to get all my orders out before we go away. But have been checking the few that have been posted. Well done to all. Have already given **2 all Hugs Yvonne

I noticed this too. My biggest stumpling block was trying to decide what to use of Ms. Veronika's to start with as nothing was choosen in advance. I think gerryvb pretty much summed it up. I know it was hard for me to get started on a challenge at first, but I managed to do three when I found a design I liked. Not much thinking outside the box though I'm afraid, lol! Might have been trying to deside what design to use to begin with.
Maybe we should call them a monthly challenge rather than a holiday challenge. As I am sure other countries have things they celebrate that aren't celebrated here in the USA that could make for some interesting projects. Of course we can still do the monthly challenges that cover the majority of countries like Christmas does.

I did do the Valentine one but I still haven't done the sunflower, lol! Can't decide what to put it on and it took me forever to find my yellow material, by then most were all finished with it.

I think maybe it was poorly organized. There should of been a specific design chosen but I decided to give everyone free reign. And it seems alot of people did not really understand what they needed to do. But Valentines is over and i look forward to March's challenge. i hope someone has a great idea . I think there should be a challenge each month for those who would like to participate

I have an idea if everyone is interested - or have we over challenged?
