A sugar glider is a marsupial often called a gliding possum. They are native to Australia. I saw a family with these in a store and about freaked out. I had never seen one before, and they let these little things crawl on them, and it would go into the shirt pockets of the kids. They are actaully quite small - not a whole lot bigger than the father's thumb.

Hi Carolyn,
The sugar glider is a marsupial which is native to eastern and northern mainland Australia (as well as being introduced to Tasmania, Australia) and is also native to New Guinea and the Bismarck Archhipelago.
They are really cute and very small. I'll see if I can add a picture of an actual one.
