I've been working on this project on & off during this past week. "Olivia"...as I call her ... lol ... is based on my "girly ruffle purse" that I showed you last week... with parts of her based on another owl purse I was making last summer. I "LUV" how she turned out! This is actually my second one that I have made this week (used the same fabric combo...just changed the eye/nose design).... and this one, without the embroidery, took me about 2 hours last night to sew. I digitised the eyes and nose and sewed them out in some heavy vintage felt (eyes) and some wool felt (nose)....it's a very quick stitch, like 4000 stitches. I had oodles of this yellow print fabric that I purchased off ebay a few years ago ... had wondered what I was going to do with it and found it PERFECT for "Olivia"! I think this design will be well recieved at my Farmers Markets this summer. I can't wait to swing one over my own shoulder as well!
