DeeLyn, what a special tribute - of coarse you should do what you want - I like the idea - go to Emblibrary and take a look at some of their designs.

check embroidery library or urban threads web sites they both have birds in cages and maybe one will suit.I think you idea is grand and a fitting tribute.

I didn't find any designs with cages that looked manly to me.
