I have almost given up on watching the news as seems there is always a disaster...Prayer to all in NZ...

Hi sewdoctor - I'm sure your prayers will be needed and appreciated - I know they will be answered. This earthquake has caused considerably more damage and loss of life than the first one last September.
Christchurch is right in the south of the South Island of New Zealand and it had a magnificent cathedral. That cathedral was destroyed today, together with other big buildings.
I'm sure that most Australians are concerned about their neighbours across the Tasman Sea and we are sending search and rescue teams over to help the teams already in Christchurch.
This shock has been described as an after-shock from the September earthquake and more after-shocks are expected but no-one knows when to expect them.
The people of Christchurch rallied to help the limited and over-stretched services available by using their cars to transport injured people to hospital and to offer comfort where it was needed.

The 'quake hit the centre of the CBD around lunchtime and if there were any Cute Members in that area I do hope they are safe.

I am so very sorry for all of New Zealand. It has always been on my bucket list to visit this beautiful country. My prayers for no more death and destruction.

for sure prayers and strength is needed here, i feel very sorry for all people who lost their dear ones and belongingings. It's so sad.
