Outside in my very dark backyard and I am sitting there and I see this fluttering thing run across my patio in front of me! I thought it was a moth flapping it's wings.

We have a motion light and it was big enough to turn it on. I see this very large bug only I think I see claws! I'm thinking no way what is this? Is it a scorpion? If it is a scorpion it will have a stinger on it's tail! So I stare at it and OMG it has a stinger!

I stand up and it turns in my direction so I stand still and so does the scorpion! I take a step it takes a step towards me! I'm thinking I got to get in the house but everytime I move it moves towards me!
So I start running to the door and not looking back and fly inside and start yelling for my DH! I tell him that there is a scorpion outside in the backyard on the patio and he says what?
A scorpion? Yes and please go kill it!

Then he surprizes me by saying why can't you kill it?
Are you kidding me? I say
He then said, Why do I have to kill it?
This is my big tough husband!
I said Because your the husband and it's your job to kill it.
So we go downstairs and I lookout the blinds and there it is and he says to me.
Are you sure it was a scorpion?
Yes I'm sure it's right there!!!!! And it chased me!
He looks and then yelling OMG that is the biggest scorpion I have ever seen!
So he went out and picked up this tiny shovel and had to walk far around it until he was behind it because it would start chasing him to!
Bam no more scorpion thank goodness!
I guess there a things out there that my tough hubby doesn't like to get near and I don't blame him at all!!
My husband is a retired police officer and was on the swat team for 16 years so he has seen and been in some unbelieveable situations. Only now I know what his weakness is Scorpions. Face a man with a gun no problem!
Scorpions rather not!
I chuckle now when I think of him trying to kill it! Of course I was inside watching the whole time!!!

You never know how you will react until you're in the situation. I'm glad you're both OK.

My hubby is a strapping 6 ft. 5 in. guy, weighs 280, and very muscular, has an arsenal of artillery to stand off an army, and would try, if need be, but his downfall is "spiders"!! LOL Being a farm girl, I can smash any
bug or spider in a heartbeat, so guess who stands behind me and is ready to run, if one is sighted!! I become HIS heroine, if only for a moment! LOL

LMAO-OMG-I am mentally picturing the situation and really laughing out loud. Our big.strong, fearless hubby's are sometimes reduced to little girls. Don't ever tell them this tho-they'll deny it till the cows come home lol.~linda~

I have had a great chuckle at this!
Especially about the "claws".LOL..
I nearly flooded my sewing room, trying to kill a long green snake (I was sure it was a meter long). My defence is hot water.I knew I did't want to get an ugly surprise if I left it alive there.( the poor dead thing wasn't nearly as long as a meter).
Shouting to DH for help was in vain, he never even came to look ( I've still not forgiven him).
Us Ladies deserve a good pat on the back for our brave deeds.
Thanks for your story.

Yes we do!! I would totally freak if a snake got into my house if I didn't know what kind it was! We have rattlesnakes here in Arizona and they are deadly!
I was raised with snakes only the non lethal kind thou!!! LOL

Love it! I'd be right inside with YOU! Ask your hubby if he doesn't know he's supposed to be the "hunter, gatherer" in the family! Hee hee But don't offer to cook the thing for him!!!
