What is a normal size for napkins? Do you measure before you hem or after you hem? Thanks DeVon

A good size dinner napkin is 18 inches, after the hem (or serge). I have a friend who likes to make hers a very generous 20"!! Some store bought ones are 16".

I do cut my sqs 18" and then do a rolled edge on all 4 sides, so it's a little bit smaller than the 18", but not much. That is a good sized napkin.
