I use fleece for my backing and sometimes just emb on cotton or poly/cotton fabric. We use a lot of bibs here.I know you asked sewdeb, but just thought I'd tell you what I use.

LOL, I was not quick enough! The ninja is on fleece and the cow is on flannel.

I like the ninja too, especially since my SIL is into martial arts, Thought he'd get a kick out of it. (pun intended ;-D

These are great. Looks like you used flannel? I'm getting ready to make a batch of bibs and burpers myself for our 9th granddaughter. Love the designs, especially the cow.

Oh 9 grands! How blessed you are! Are they all girls? We have only one GS at the moment and just this one little guy keeps my machine humming.... The cow is flannel and the ninja is fleece. *4U

These are very cute. Where did you get the pattern for the bib?

Thanks. The bib pattern is Butterick # 5220 I modified it by adding seam allowances (it called for bias tape around the edge that were to be tied behind the neck) but my DD didn't want ties but snaps and she specified THICK so I did two layers which covered up the stitching and made a nice soft layer against the baby.
