I went over there today, and WOW. 12 file boxes full of material of all sorts. Some pieces over 4 or 5 yards, others scraps. Some knits, polyesters, fleeces, and cottons, even a few pieces of fake fur, lol. I am overwhelmed at all the material he gave me. He said he didn't care what I did with it as long as I don't throw it out. So now I am trying to find homes for some of the material with local nursing homes and churches who make mission blankets. I am keeping 3 boxes for myself. Plus the scraps of batting for my scrap quilt. I am waiting for a call from a nursing home right now. Hopefully they will take some of it off my hands, lol! What a treat to open these boxes this morning. There was a quilt in there that is almost done, and a hexagon quilt top completely cut out. Plus several blocks put together of different sizes and materials (so lots of ides or suggestions from his passed wife). Unfortunately I don't know if I want to tackle the hexagon quilt, lol! Sound like something an very experienced quilter might do, and I'm an advanced beginner, lol!
