Cuties, I need some constructive critism. Is is okay to use different designs on a towel set or would it have been better to use the same design on both the hand towels and the bath towels? If so, should I have put the C design on the bath towels since it is larger and put the 3 tulips on the hand towels? What is the proper thing to do?

Tuips are freebies from embroderydesigns and I believe the embossed font was from here or one of the sister sites.

These towels look beautiful. The choice is yours. As far as I am concerned as long as you are happy with your work that is all that matters. Having different designs means the towels can be used separately to the hand towels. I probably would have put the C on the towels but since this is your project you did it your way and it looks beautiful. Great work. Love the colours you used. Love Marg

I love your towel set and colours. I don't think there is any right or wrong way to do these things, as long as you are happy with the result, but since you ask, I would probably put the C design on the bath towels.

Yes, the C design should be on the bath towels and the 3 tulips on the hand towels. This is just my opinion as their is no rules in embroidering designs --you can do whatever you want. I love the colors and the design is so pretty. *4U

Beautiful!!!! Never would have thought to coordinate. Thank you for sharing such a neat idea. Now, because you asked for an opinion...I am not sure if I would use the tulips on the haand towel and C on the bath towel...or keep it just like you have it. I am just so impressed with the idea of coordinating. Thank you, thank you.

I think they are beautiful this way and makes them look extremely elegant. Originally I thought they were handtowels and washcloths and I thought that you should switch them, but after re-reading and realizing they are bathtowels and handtowels - I don't think you should switch them at all. I think with all the stitching on the handtowel it might tend to be a bit more scratchy than the tulips alone and since a person typically wants that "soft" feeling when using a bathtowel I'd say its perfect just like it is. Don't think one more minute about it - you did an amazing job! Just Beautiful!!!

I love them the way they are. They are beautiful. I was just thinking of doing the embossed tulip font myself. They are lovely for spring. Now I know I must do them. Where did you get the 3 little tulip designs?

Very lovely, & such great color choices. I also used the Tulip Alpha on hand towels for my family last summer when they were all in town for a gathering. They loved them, as I am sure your MIL will love hers. And I, too, wondered about using such a large design on the hand towels, but they turned out beautifully. The way you have the bath towel designs positioned really compliments and underscores the monograms. They are absolutely lovely, I wouldn't change a thing.

Coordinating designs look nice together. I would have probably switched the bath and hand designs but that is just one opinion.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments! I really apreciate your advice and all your wonderful knowledge. I gave them to MIL today and she loved them. I looked in her yard and she had a big basket of yellow, orange, and red tulips blooming just like the towels!

I just noticed several "0's for flowers on the posts behind mine. Everyone wants to get these flowers, but why don't they give flowers back when they post? I gave flowers to all, even those that didn't give to the rest.
by patsy28 05 Mar 2011
I thought I had given flowers to all. I think my computer is so slow sometimes that I don't wait long enought between flowers for it to load. I will try to be more careful. I do appreciate all the comments and I love to give flowers too.

Patsy28 - I love your towels for your MIL.
I would have done the large Monogram on the Bath Towels and the Tulips on the hand towel - BUT I may have to revise my thinking. Your photo looks absolutely beautiful.

These look great just as they are and would have been great either way. It's good that you have done them differently to how others might. Different is a good thing and it worked. Very nice set. I don't like to lose too much of a bath towel by using a big design either, and will often put the design below and/or on the border so there is more towel left to dry with.

Oh-I forgot to ask patsy-don't you remember where you got your triple tulips design from-so simple but so pretty *smiles*
by patsy28 05 Mar 2011
embroideydesigns.com is where I got the tulip. It is a single tulip so I duplicated and flip one tulip and duplicated and enlarged the middle tulip.
