Well congratulations are in order dear lady as it is a major achievement digitising your first design.
You have now joined the elite club of sleepwalkers, permanently tired, red-eyed, sleep deprived people, otherwise known as digitisers. LOL!
This is the start of a whole new life style of endless days that turn into nights as you sit glued to the screen and the picture that you just HAVE to digitise. :-)
And you thought you were addicted to collecting freebies???? hahahaha!!!
Now the bug has bitten just watch your clipart folder fill up.
All said with a sense of fun of course, after putting in another all-nighter digitising and only getting to bed at 9 am this morning then waking to find I have lost another day. And I love every minute of it too.

I know what you're saying about the sleepless nights. My husband asked me at 2am if I was planning on going to bed...lol. He said he would start the coffee if I was just going to stay up the rest of the night.
I would still like to make a few changes to the design. I'm going to make this into a little flag to hang on a pole in the front of the camper.

My DH tells everyone we're going to buy ONE single bed, because when he gets up for work, I'm just going to bed! LOLOL!!!!!

Congratulations on your first! The next one will be faster, as you get to know your programme better and don't have to think about which tool to use. Having said that - then you want to do more complicated things and that will take more time than you planned for. But as long as you have a power source you can digitise in the oddest places - and believe you me, you will once you get hooked.
You know you CAN save a design half-way-through and return the next day after a good night's sleep. Hear who's talking. And when I do go to bed in time I wake up in the middle of the night with new ideas.

Thank you ladies, you are just to funny. I do custom sewing and embroidery out of my home so, I'm also up half of the night doing that. Now I also have this to deal with, why bother to sleep at all, I have better things to do with my time.

I haven't completed any digitising yet but I have customised several small items and I know just how proud you must be of your achievement - and justly so. It's no small feat to create your first design.
I've just had a look at it and I think you've chosen an excellent theme for such a momentous occasion.

It just happen I am also getting deapper in it like you. I kept Bill's site adress(http://cafire7.com/index.html) for a long time and said to myself that I will go on it one day when I have some time in front of me. A couple of week ago I went for it and couldn't stop. Then I bought 2 CD to learn more but it is for any program not just embird(I started the first exercice but I think I made a mistake, it is a bit general but we will see). Expecially when I saw a "Katy Jones"site (but not me ! I am Cathie Jones !!)
What do you use to digitize and how did you learn to use it ? Did someone show you ?

Cathie, I've had Embird for a long time, but never used it. Buying my little camper inspired me to want to make a flag such as shown in the projects section.
This is my very first try at using Embird. I did lots of hair pulling on this, and it took me several days trying to do things different. I'm learning it on my own. We don't have any teachers for anything like this in my area. I'm sure I will be doing other things with it, but my time is very limited, and this took lots of time and patients.

Have a look to the link I gave. I have found his free explanation fantastic to start with embird. I hope he will give us more. I have him encouraged to !
I don't have much time neither even so I would love to work on it all day !!
In French we say I am "thirsty" to learn more. Meganne and Mops are right, it is very addictive !

I say go for it. I am not into digitizing but I stay up all night (there's not enough hours in the day) and sew. I'm into quilting and applique. The longer you stay with it the better you will get.

I don't have time to sleep. I have better things to do. But I make sure I take the time everyday to keep my house somewhat tidy.
