That's OK, darlin'.....there is always next year. You need to let that elbow get 100% so you don't have to depend on hubby to ride around. Want to hear you are back on your own bike.......want to see the quilt in projects when you are done with it, bet it'll be awesome!!!!! Vicki

Oh Karen--You poor thing! I know how much you enjoy Bikeweek. Maybe have DH set up a big fan in the driveway, and set your bike in front of it. At least you'll feel the "wind" through your hair. And you can still have a Mai-tai. Be careful getting off of the bike after a few :)

That has to be torture and disappointing. I still grieve because I can no longer ride with my hubby (bad spine). He switched to a 71 Mustang and I can share that experience with him now. We got to visit Sturgis a couple of days before it exploded with bikes. Enough for me since crowds are dangerous for me. Got the t shirt though.

I am sorry you will not be able to ride this year! I do know just how you feel because I will never be able to ride again. Even if I was not cripple with arthritis, I do not think I would want to ride in the Atlanta area where I am now! Ihave seen too many stupid drivers on the roads up here and they all seem to have the need for SPEED! My son even drives like a crazy person up here. He used to drive like he had some common sense but the last time I rode with him was "the last time" unless he has the grandbabies with him. That is the only time he seems to know how to drive! He learned how to drive before he was 12 and I always felt safe with him but he now(at 44) scares the devil out of me. It seems to me like he has a death wish when he gets behind the wheel! I have been known to exceede the speed limit to extreme before and I still have a heavy foot but try to use the cruise control when possible but I am very careful of what I do and what the other drivers around me are doing. Cripple and 64, I know my reflexes are not as swift as they were several yrs ago. My son scares me so bad that my blood pressure will go sky high just riding for a few minutes with him. He gets very ill with me but I would rather he be ill and cranky than put me in the hospital or in the ground. Ever heard the remark, "hell on wheels"???? Well, that is my son!

You are a braver soul than I - I don't set foot in Daytona during Bike Week. LOL - We have several that love to go down the highway this way - unfortunately many don't make it back. But - you have fun! Hope your arm gets better soon.

I don't know you, but I am a motorcycle gramma! I have a Honda Shadow 1100 and got my license almost three years ago and I am 54!! Love those bikes!! Hope you get better soon so you can drive again soon!!

Awww so sad for you, I know how much you love Bike Week. Wish I lived in FL (except in the summertime.) I'd ride with you. Ride on the back and have as much fun as you can without having bugs in your teeth.;)

what a shame, I tried to learn to ride years ago, but I could not stay on the bike, DH has a Harley but he has never got around to getting a pillion seat on his new one. I don't really mind because it scares me and upsets my back. I did like going on the toy run at Christmas time though.
He has joked about getting a shirt with that saying " if you can read this the B!&#* fell off" I told him I would embroider one that says " if you can read this the B!&#* has better things to do"
