I am sure they must, as mine played up the other day when I was trying to do a smaller pincushion. You have to talk to them nicely or if you are saying nasty things it must be in a nice tone or the machine will get upset. Am I all right????. Must go to bed. L

I do believe it feels that way - sometimes.

If mine acts up, it more likely to happen when I do
not feel well. EVERYTHING seems to go wrong when I attempt to do things when I am sick, especially any sewing/embroidery. My machines have taught me to wait until I am more "cheerful" to be creative!!

I think so. I think they also get tired. I have had 1 of my machines misbehave. I shut it down and did not use it for 3 days. We both got along fine when we began working together again.

When my machine does this I run some waxless dental floss through it to clean out any dust or debris that could be there. It works for me.

I have had this happen many times when the bobbin case gets too hot. The man who services my machine tells me that the plastic gets too hot and starts to expand causing all kinds of problems. I brought him my machine because it was doing this and found out that the case had gotten so hot that the ball bearing froze in place and I could have totally ruined my machine.He suggests we give our machines a 20 minute rest every 2 hours to avoid this. Hope this helps.

I am sure the machine picks up my mood. If I am inpatient or in a hurry it tells me to not go on it and it won't work with me. If I am relaxed it relaxes with me. That is why I never put a finishing date on my work!

Sure, if I do not use her on a regular base, she sometimes is offended and it needs a good pad to get her working again. Sometimes music helps too.

If my upper tension is not right, I rethread the whole thing, one or twice and talk to her. Mostly it works then.
