friend who says she is coming to visit tomorrow. So I am having a huge clear out and tidy up so my room will look tidier than her room which I visited last week.

hahaha, I hope you can drag yourself away from the computer to get that done. I had mine all nice and sorted but I have been furiously stitching for the last 2 days so it is a mess again.

Yes while my design stitched I have tidied but the room needs a hoover and finish off

I had a good laugh at your honesty! Perhaps this is common to many who sew....and more than we will ever know! I thought it was just one of my habits and unique to me, but I feel much better now! Thanks for sharing. ;>)

My problem is that the room is too small and has too many other things in it, like 2 dressers, a couch, a cat litter box for the old gal who isn't up to going down the basement steps anymore and just major junk!

My room is small too but there is no surplus furniture and as I look the cats are not here tonight

This is where I am lucky. Every one rings me before they come so it gives me 30 mins to tidy before they arrive. This is where a spare room comes in handy. As my friends say "We came to see you not how tidy your house is". Lyn

Its not the state of the house but the state of the sewing room. I too get phone calls before visitors as I live up a very steep hill and if people are on foot they often need a little tlc when they arrive. I have been busy sewing and shut the door and leave (leave the mess to later and now is later)

If visitors come to see how messy the house is, why disappoint them!!!!!!!. Haahaahaa
I always tell my friends that I come to see them not their house, but if my friends came and my house was messy they would probably call the doctor because it would me their was something wrong with me. If I do happen to get caught in the midst of spring cleaner my friends take absolute delight in the rare opportunity to see my house in a disorganized state.

Sometimes it is a good thing that others stop by and that they let you know in advance - so the sewing room can get an overhaul from time to time - Hehehe!

I am all about "Shut the Door". my sweetie will bring someone over for me to meet and insist I show my sewing room. I am ready to kick shins at that!!!

My room began as a dining room..
we then turned into into a second sitting room/
playroom for the 4 children..
it has a sofa a large tv + sky, toy boxes ect..
then in went my computer desk.. followed by
my 2 x innovis 700.. then my pr600 joined the room
then my vinyl plotter cutter.. then my sideboard
which now stores all my threads lol..
My stock materials,garments ect are in my loft room
My secret stashes are away so well even I forget where they are lol..
what I love about our room is that I have laminate flooring.. which means I can run the duster and the hoover then mop and it looks spotless..
