Charlie says even over the past 4 days she has worsened. She is on a drug to try and reduce the swelling of the brain and one of the Doctor's from the Hospice is visiting her this afternoon to adjust the dosage.

I read out a card with that beautiful verse from Deanna and broke down after I'd read my personal bit. She just squeezed my hand, she can't talk very well.

I'm feeling numb! She has been my best friend here for 25 years and we have gone through so many things together. Her youngest daughter is due with her first baby in 20 weeks and I don't think Marg is going to make it. Her other 2 girls are also pregnant with 2nd and 3rd babies. Sometimes, life is just not fair. I just wanted to vent my feelings, but I don't want to go on ranting. She is only 58!

Love and blessings Chris

Chris, I will be praying for your dear friend - it has to be so very hard - to see her in this condition - I will be praying for you, as well. I know you can be strong when you need to be - but I also worry how you are - with so much going on - thank goodness for your faith.

Oh! thanks so much Shirlene - and with you having so much on your plate I really appreciate the worry you have for me. Don't worry - I will be fine. I had a cry when I left and will no doubt do a bit more from now on. I am so thankful for both of their friendships. Charlie is one of those men you can talk to and he regards me as his confidante! Love and blessings Chris

I am glad you will be strong - your belief will carry through this and of coarse the long term friendship that you have had. Praying for you and them, too.

I am so very sorry. It is hard to see someone you love in this condition. It is OK to cry and to scream and to be angry. Our God is bigger than anger and can take what we throw at him. Better yet, scream at Satan. What a miserable creature that we have to deal with.

Chris my dear your faith is strong & for this I am glad. I believe God has a reason for everything but things like this just seem to be so unfair. I'm glad she has you for a friend. I'll be remembering you both in my prayers/Lillian

Yes Martine it is difficult to watch her go through this ordeal. I still feel a bit raw after watching my Father die last September. He was in hospital though and didn't even know we were with him everyday for 2 weeks. At least Marg is at home and with her loved ones nearby. Love Chris

Just be there for her Chris, stay strong and visit with her as often as you can, that is all you can do, as much as it hurts.
She will appreciate you being there.

If you know her favourite book, get a copy and read to her, if not ask Charlie if he knows.
I know this isn't the outcome we prayed for after such a long fight and it is going to be extremely hard on her daughters, especially when they are all pregnant and they will be wanting their Mum to hold out until the babies are born.

But this is Marg's fight and it's been a tough one, no one could blame her if she is worn out and someone may need to tell her this so she can go, with a clear conscience, if she needs to.

You have a big heart and you can step up to be there for her daughters, not to take her place, but as her best friend.

I'm sorry if this all sounds a bit harsh or callous, it is not meant to, it is meant to help you find the strength you will need to get you through what is to come.

I will be praying for a miracle for Marg and her family.
Hugs and deepest compassion is all I can offer dear friend. Meg

Dear Meg, you have hit the nail on the head so to speak. That's exactly what I've been trying to do. It is so difficult though to know whether or not you are intruding too much. I will give Charlie a call again tomorrow and check on how her day has been today. It's been hot, humid, rainy and sunny all in one day here. Thanks for all our prayers and compassion. Love Chris

Be there for her and her daughters and be their friend. I am praying for you and Marg and her family. Only God know what is best for all of us. May he bless you all. Love and hugs, Mary

Dear Mary,
Thanks so much for your heartfelt comments. I have just rung the family (9.30am Monday morning) and Marg is just resting. Hasn't eaten since last Thursday and they have upped the Morphine drip. She is in no pain and for that we are all thankful. God has it under control. Love Chris

Dear Helen,

Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers. I always told Marg that she was an angel sent here to help me when we arrived here 26 years ago. We didn't know anyone and we met through our husbands at BHP. Love and blessings Chris
