Sarah, I am so sorry to hear you lost your address/telephone book from so long ago - I know I had one for years - just like that - now - I have have most things on my PC. I don't know that is better or not - I still have to open the PC and the file to get them. I wish you well in starting over.

I feel your anguish!!!
Accidents happen but it doesn't help to know this when something as precious as old memories are lost.
I do hope you can find something very lovely to replace your old 'friend' and then begin to fill it again.

Wow - I am always worried that will happen to me so even if I write into a book I have this habit of saving the scrap of paper that I originally wrote. I try to back up numbers in different locations but somehow alays seem to miss one or two. Hope you can "retrieve" most of the numbers.

I know just how you feel kinda... I keep saying i should copy all my mobile phone numbers down ... one day i know i am going to get caught as i dont have an address/phone book. :(

Oh Wow, that will be quite a chore for you to replace and it won't be the same. I wish you luck on getting all your passwords together and phone numbers and birthdays, oh my, I would be lost, my memory is awful! Good luck dear.

Well,that's got to be challenging losing your address book. I think about how here in the U.S. there's a site directory.com to help look up friends but, not sure what you have in So. Africa. It seems we rely on either paper or electronic devices to record important info. Trust you'll be able to begin recovering that important info soon.:~D

You poor girl! If that happened to me I would jump in my waste container if I had hope to save it. Mine is very small and old too but I had tranferred many of it to the adress-book of my mac. Maybe this is a good opportunity to look which numbers you really need and leave away all the old stuff you didn't use for a long time. It's like a spring-cleaning" :o)

PS: My problem with passwords: Most of mine are stored self-acting so I didn't type them in all the time and forgett what I use for all of my embroidery-pages...

Geeee, what a mess. Hope you find all the realy importaint ones again, and remember some other ones too. Who does a "paper" backup? I would probable jump into the rubbish bin and take a swim. Yieck!

Sorry for your loss. Our daughter can remember address and phone numbers from when you was a child, and I can't remember one from one minute to the next. I guess we depend on our cell phones holding all the information, or our PC. Hopefully you can recall the important things. Good luck. Hugs, Judy

So sorry about that, and he was trying to be helpful by taking out the trash. I hope you remember your passwords, and are able to get your addresses. Send out an e-mail to family and friends requesting their addresses and other family members addresses. Also have them forward it to others you do not have an e-mail address for. I had to do this when our computer crashed, my husband used the desktop e-mail storage and lost all his e-mail information. I had a few so I sent and e-mail to them asking for them to forward to others trying to restore hos address book. He now uses the e-mail storage on their site. With our business that was a tough lesson to learn!

I feel your loss, had it happen to me once, I stuck it in a library book while at the library to mark a place. Took me a while to retrack it down! Now I have made an excell file on my flash drive, which I carry with me, and periodically print it out and stash that in places. Once was enough!

So sorry, a thing like a 30 to40 year old adress book is irriplaceble, but I hope you can remember most of what ws in your book. Good luck with al the remembering to write your new book up.

So sorry, and I can empathize! I, too, have a tattered one with "sentimental" notes. I need to quit procrastinating and transfer all to a new book, before someone tosses it!

I know how you feel, I lost mine once & it went back 30 yrs. covering about 9 states. This was before computers. We moved frequently because hubby worked for Govt. I know there are still friends that probably wonder what in the world happened to me. I now keep a smaller version in my purse at all times. It was impossible to remember everyone of the addresses are phone nrs./Lillian

Oh no Sarah-that's awful. I would be stompin'mad.
I have my book right next to me @ my sewing, computer area-luckily it is my area,so if anything gets tossed-it's my own doing. Hope you are able to remember your valuable info from your old book.

This is what I love about Cuties. I was so down with the loss of my 'faithful' book and now your words have cheered me up. PS. Husband still feels terrible!!!!

OMG! I don't know what I'd do if I lost mine. My dear husband used to get it and get a number and then leave it where ever he was. I finally yelled enough that he puts it back exactly where it belongs. Told him that if he couldn't do that then he was NEVER to even think about touching it. Actually this is my third one if over 50 years. There are some things that can not be replaced. Some things that I now I'll never need again, but I want to keep them.
I am so sorry for you. Such a bad loss!
