I have really been inspired by all the amazing cuties who have done this pincushion. Here is my attempt. The white one is sewn up by hand and is really the better one. I tried something different with the other one .. I sewed it up on the machine .. the shape isn't quite as good .. I think I'll practise some more.

They look lovely - what did you do round the edge?

Thankyou. On the white one I handsewed a blanket stitch .. the coloured one I sewed up on the machine using a very close zig-zag stitch after folding edge under .. I think that's why it is so pointy on the corners it's a little thick whereas when handsewn it is finer.

Thankyou .. I love doing them now .. once I did one I just wanted to do more and it is a good way to use up scrappy bits.

I love them. I also did my sewing on the machine to close mine, but I dont' have the edge you have created. How did you do this? thank you.

I sewed them on the right side using a close zig-zag stitch. I am going to try doing them the other way with the seam on the inside and see if I can get a better shape.
by jkdavis1996 20 Mar 2011
I like the seam on the outside...it is different and gives definite shape to the angular line.

These are very pretty. I've been admiring all the ones done and I'd like to do. Question- Do you just use fiber fill inside.
