because it doesn't look like they are going to be completed

One is faerynutt's Lacy Celtic-A-M-the other is CinDes Valentine Alpha A-L. Do I or don't I??? That is the question

that's a good idea but I am trying to organize all my designs and I don't want to send anything to flash, hard drive or stick that is incomplete-I will be too likely not to keep track of it. Thanks for you thought tho ~linda~

Delete them, there will always be a new one to take it's place

Was also wondering about the CinDes unfinished alphabet. Didn't know if it was in a different link than what I have been going to.

As soon as you delete you will want it...I have a few incomplete ones. but I know sure as if I deleted I will need it... most have 3 or 4 missing but I figure maybe I wont ever need the missing letters, so I keep them anyway. Hugs Sally

I have a file under Alphabets called incomplete. I put a folder in it for each alpha that is incomplete and keep them. I have used some of them and sometimes I find another site that gives them away so I can get them completed.

I know what you mean.... it's exasperating to have incomplete files. I finally made a file called "Alphabets 1- Few of a Kind". I put all the odds and ends of all those mix and match letters. I start each file with the letter say like: B_PrettyLetter and then if I ever need just a capital Pretty B, I can find it there. So, I have a whole file full of these unique letters and I don't feel like I'm cluttering up my files with incomplete alphabets. It took me a while to come up with this system, but so far it works.

linda<br />you may just want to use the letters you have already. Send faerynutt a pm and see if she will finish the font. I too have a folder of incomplete alphabets and fonts for 'just in case'.<Helen

I think you should keep them Linda, you may need one or 2 of the letters. I really don't understand alphabet collecting my self. But then I don't collect anything at all. I just digitize what I want. But definitely keep them if they are nice ones.

I have many incompleted alphabets, the important is to have some letters which are the initials of members of family, and that I use more often. So I keep all.

I know what you mean Claude-that's why I hesitate because for just my family (self, husband & daughters)- I need E-J-K-L-M-R-S-just for the initials. Our full names take in the end of the alphabet too(Z) soooo....I guess I will just have to hold out for a while more

I am waiting for the bouton rose alpha to finiah too. It has been a long time since there has been a new one. I am tempted too but the second I do they will finish with my luck. What a quandry we are in. You are not alone! Suzanne

Me too! It's such a nice alpha. I keep thinking that maybe I missed the ones that I don't have. I see they've put one up but it's a letter I already have. Maybe soon.

I understand where you are coming from. I think the Valentines Alpha from CinDes is so cute, and wish it could be finished. But, I have a folder in my embroidery files that says, "Alphas - Incomplete". These
may have to go there!

Well speaking from personal experience. If you can't complete - delete! I like to make baby quilts etc with my alphas and therefore they have to be complete. I tried keeping several unfinished but then for sure I wanted to use that one and then was frustrated. Sooooooooooo if it's not complete I delete!

Like several others, I keep in an "Incomplete" folder. Rarely the letter(s) pop up at some point and I can finish it or I use just one or two to do something. I think I'm just possessive about some things... :)

I'd say keep them. I have lots of single or more letters. When I first started, I collected everything I could find and I have them in the alphabet file but have not gone back to put them in an incomplete file yet as haven't had time. I just finished the top of a quilt for my GD and I put her name at the top and used a different font for each letter - which was what I intended to do. It looks good that way.
It took longer than if I had just used one alpha. because I had to go through all alphas to find the right letter and one that I wanted to use for a 3 yr old.

I delete aall alphas that are not compete. I just know I will set my heart on an alpha that is missing THE letter I need for a project.

I'd say keep them! You never know when you might want the letters for something. You could even purchase the letters you missed or they may come up at random say day.

I have one alpha file that is for single letters. Sometimes you just need one letter, so unless I have a specific font in mind I look there first for singles. I started that file when I downloaded a complete alphabet set with each letter being from a different set.

I do something similar and call it 'individual letters'.

I call my "random letters" LOL

Thanks for everyone's suggestions- I think I am just going to hold on to the folders for a while-I did send them to the recycle bin last night but went back in this morning and restored them back to downloads. Maybe they will get completed-I have gotten my downloads down to 8 items-all alphabet collections. ****'s to everyone =O)

Cindy has always finished her alphas although some takes a bit longer than the others. I would not delete them but just put them in an incomplete alpha folder. If you really like the font, could be that you might want to use the Initials to put on something for a friend. I do take another look through mine once in awhile to see if I have changed my mind about liking them enough to keep but very rarely delete.

The flash drives are getting so cheap now that I bought one just for alphabets. I make a seperate folder w name & source (ie. Cute Flowering Font) for each alphabet and download into it. Sure makes finding what I am looking for easy. With 4gbs I probably won't fill it up in my lifetime! I do keep even the incomplete ones as Murpheys Law says that as soon as I deleate it I'll want it the next day!

I keep all my alphas in separate files and if they are incomplete I type the name in lower case and if it is a complete one I type it in caps. Helps me know that there may be one or two letters missing.
