I just thought I would let everyone know that even if you think you have protection, they can't stop it all.

There have been a couple of times that a virus has gotten through my system too. My solution was to call the security company and turn this over to them and between the two of us we got rid of the virus and lost nothing. So try it nothing ventured nothing gained.

We use the Internet Security Suite from Computer Associates. Often, it finds and blocks problems the other packages don't see. We have used it for years, with good results.

We had the same problem. Our one computer is about ready to be thrown out because of this virus. It blocks everything! It is called the anti malware doctor virus. We have tried everything and just when it appears to be fixed, suddenly it kicks in again and last night we got the "blue screen of death"! Norton did not block this virus.

Do you have a recovery CD? Try a reformat and full recovery. It's the only way and it works. Well, with XP it does. Yesp, you loose everything you have on it, but................ That's why you back up a lot.

Had trouble with something like you are describing and started my computer in safe mode. Safe mode has limited features but was able to locate the problem files/registry keys and deleted them. Restarted and ran a scan and all my files were left untouched.
