If I were you, first I would uninstall the program, then go to brother website and download from there. I had vista when I got my PED BASIC and took it to work to let the IT guy there install it. He wrote all over the pkg the cd was in in big bold letters, do not install this on vista, go to website. Mine worked great until the whole computer died...along with all my designs. Luckily I had lots and lots on disk, but had to start over again with the freebies, and although I lost lots of designs, have had the best time backtracking and finding the ones I really liked. Thanks to all the cuties out there, if I remembered a design I used to have but could not remember where I found it, did just like you did, got on here and asked if anyone knew where I found it. They have sent me to the right place every time. Welcome to cute, it is very addictive! You will love it here!

Welcome Judy. I'm a Judy also and there is one more I know of for sure. LOL Anyway can't really help a lot but see if there is a phone # on your Ped-Basic book or box and call them if nothing else works. Looks like asterixsew may just have the right answer for ya. Hello newbie! I am a Brother user too and use Ped Basic, had to uninstall 1.0 and download 1.07 from the Brother website and I am on Windows XP I think. Anyway, glad you are here, the other cuties are miracle workers any time you have a problem!

DO NOT INSTALL CD onto computer with Vista. Take the program off of the computer and go to the Brother site and follow the directions. I did the same thing as you and it didn't work. Follow directions on brother site and you shouldn't have any problem. Just remember that PED Basic can drive you nuts sometimes.

I had to return mine, even after following the directions on the web site it would work once and then the same problems would arise. I would have to delete and reinstall according to brothers directions. I finally called the site I bought it from and after much complaining and going in circles I was able to return it and up grade to the PE-DESIGN Lite. I hate vista, its nothing but trouble!!
