I do wish business people would think about their embroidery while they are designing their logos.

That would be great, if they did.

Is it really too much to ask?

They tend to want their Logos unique..
sometimes simple sometimes so complicated
its not worth doing..
I quote for the work involved.
I guess then its up to us to work out the best method lol..

oh yes, and not only for embroidery I have to do their logo's sometimes engraved on glass or painted on tiles. One day there was the director of a school who thought I could print their schoollogo on the tiles I was suppose to make. So I asked him if I could borrow his printer, because mine only prints on paper LOL.

Isn't there some way to put them on tile? I'd have decoupaged it on there just for fun and handed it to him later. You make tiles? That must be a pretty neat thing to do.... I wonder what your studio looks like.... Etching glass, painting tiles, embroidering - you work with a lot of different things. Sounds like you have a lot of fun!

Wishful thinking, Alice, but not likely to happen! Most people who want a logo digitized have no idea whatsoever about digitizing or embroidery! I do not digitize, but have people who want a shirt, etc., embroidereded. They think the machine does it by itself, quickly, as running it through through a printer! You can tell that by the way they gasp and choke, when you tell them the cost!! LOL

It is a little frustrating because I am sure they think it is just a matter of sticking it in some software and pressing a button. I have started learning how to say No, I can't digitize that. I had one guy when I first started bring me a pencil drawing of his truck, I spent two days on it for him to tell me it was not quite what he wanted. I don't waste my time with that stuff anymore.
