edge joiner. Does your machine have one? What is a good foot to use instead?

I have different feet that I bought separately. I'm off to see the tip at embroidery library. I don't even know what this type of foot looks like. I think it would be a great foot to have though. Thanks for posting.

It is a foot that has a metal piece running back to front in the center of the foot. I sits between the 2 pieces of fabric that you want to join together. It helps draw the 2 pieces together as they sew. Babylock has them for their machines and I love it.

I can buy one for about 12 dollars but I don't think I would use it that much. Thanks Shirlene

I do a lot of sewing and use it to sew very close to the edge - just set the needle off-center - nice even top stitching is the result. I also have an edge sewing one, which is great for a larger distance.

I don't think it comes with most machines - you have to buy it separate (it did not even come with my Quattro and it came with a ton of feet). Never used it for its actual purpose but I use it a BUNCH to stitch in the ditch (quilting and sewing on binding).

It did not come with my Designers or Iris either, but I bought it as an extra - I absolutely love it. The point is that it has a metal guide in the middle and you push the edges of both pieces of material (or FSL) to the guide and don't have to worry about getting tings touching and in the middle of your zigzag. So I don't know what other foot could be used instead - apart from the general purpose foot.

So would this foot make it easier to sew FSL bowls and doilies? My machine doesn't have one and I have only made one bowl (the fabric one) and I found it a bit hard to sew together.
