I just purchased the new Husquvarna Viking embroidery Cutwork needle kit. I am already tired of the designs which came with it. Has anyone figured out how to digitize with them? Thanks!

I have the kit and have stitched out one design.
As far as digitising is concerned, in 5D there's a special colour to be used for the cutting lines and and the stitch length needs to be set at a very small one. The colours tell the machine which needle to use, the very small st.length makes sure you get a continuous cut. I don't quite get the logic of what needle to use when. I know they have the cutting edge at different angles, but can't see which one to use in curves: they don't change needles half way through.
I have not tried it out yet. I should. I bought 5D in January and have used Embird all the time - so I ought to start using it otherwise it's a waste of (a lot of) money.

Well, that explains a lot since I am still using 3D. Thanks for your quick response. You are the best.
You could digitise the line to cut in 3D and set a very short stitch - 0.2 mm - and give it an odd colour. Then instead of changing thread when sewing change the needle. But your machine has to be able to sew without thread, which my Designer 1 could not, but the Ruby can.
