I don't have a Brother but I'm curious as to the suggestions they give. Are they just what we noramlly hear about metallic threads? Hope it works out for you. Thanks

I just looked through my manuel for my Brother and it says NOTHING about metalic thread.
Anyone else see something about it in thier manuel?

The only thing in my Brother SE-350 manual that mentions metallic thread is that the threader won't work with it. I'm not planning on using metallic thread but you never know.

OK... I looked closer and my Brother manuel does say the needle threader might not work with metalic thread and it also says that you should use a net sleeve on it to keep it from coming off the spool too fast. That's it... nothing else.
I don't use metalic that much and when I do it is a very small area for accent.... but most times I just don't use it at all....
The silicone Sewer's Aid does help-- but be sure not to use much...Just a very thin line down the thread from one end of the spool to the other....Then let it sit a second or two before using.

I don't use the 'threader' to thread my machine...I do it manually even the metallic thread with no problem. I keep the spool on a stand away from the machine and that works great too.
