The alphabet quilt was done for the daughter of a close friend. The daughter was also a high school friend of my son. I had dated the quilt Dec. 2007, when I finished it. She was not due until end of Jan. 08. However, she delivered a month early. She was so excited because of the Date I had- she delivered Dec. 31, 2007. The empty spaces were left blank so she could hand embroidery the vital statics. Her room theme was safari which is represented on the backing. The designs were purchased from Embroidery Library.

Good job. I like that layout too. I was wondering what to do when one did a quilt with alphabets.

clawton A beautiful Quilt and I know she will treasure it. You must have known ( or felt ) something about the date. ( fate? ) A flower for you.

I think fate, since she lives in Idaho. I had just given it to her Mom one week before she made the emergency trip out there from Maryland.

clawton, this is wonderful and I thank you for all the info, nice touch, leaving some blank for her own work. My neck is tired from turning to LQQK at the picture, however. HaHa. A flower for you.

Thanks. I know, but that was the best picture. I have to train my husband better when he takes pictures. He turns it side ways to get it all in not understanding that I want to see detail.

Lovely quilt! I like the alphabet, pity the pictures to go with the letters don't always fit in Dutch, otherwise I would have a go at this one. *4U.
