Hey, I love the way you did that diagonally. Never would have thought to do that. Very pretty

Thank you to every one.The sashings are appliqued on after the embroidery id done.You draw up what ever size diagonal grid you like I did 8,1/2"

mark the centers, and do your embroidery.The cut 1" strips of fabric for the sashings and apply using applique tape.Then do any fancy stitch to hold down.

I bought the butterfly fabrics years ago for $3 mt.I was goint to use the fabric with the butterfly blocks for the border, but decided to just do a square in aech corner to add a bit of a pizzazz.
I hand quilted mine while looking after my grand daughters in Sydney a few weeks back.I made the top last year , and this year is my time for UFO's
