I have used rubbing alcohol with fairly good results. There is also a product called Goo Gone that will do the job. That can be bought at Walmart and also I know Joann's carries it. I hope this is of help to you. Hugs,

Sarah, I use a product called DK5 - that I have had the small can for years - that works so very well on adhesive and sticky things - just a small amount will work wonders on your hoops. If you can't locate any of that - try using some hand sanitizer, to see if that will get the job done.

The best stuff to remove adhesive is Eucalyptus Oil. I don't know if you can get it if you don't live in Australia. Love and blessings Chris

Wish we had all the stuff in SA which are referred to here. You do get Eucalyptus oil - I also use it to remove oil stains from fabric. Don't like the smell though. I dab a piece of cotton with surgical spirits (which you can get almost everywhere I bought mine from Spar)and after I've wiped the hoops I wash it with Sunlight liquid. Not sure if in the long term it would damage the plastic.

"Brasso" rubbed gently can also remove glue.Wipe with a wet cloth after to rinse the residue.
To protect your hoop next time cut a center hole in larger tear away,use over your next hooping and only spray in the spaced hole.

I cut a piece of newspaper to protect the hoop, and throw it away when I am done.

Got my hands in a mess with spray adhesive-I mixed some dish soap with a little acetone mail polish remover and it came off without hurting my hands or my nose. I also used it to clean my iron plate.

Goo Gone is the best. It smells awful to me, but it sure works. Keep a little bottle in my thread drawers so it's always close.

This may sound silly--when my children were small I used peanut butter to get gum out of their hair. I would try that or WD-40 may work also. H&*

I have been able to remove every label by putting peanutbutter on it and letting it sit. The next day I remove it with dishwash detergent and warm water. Works every time.

I use "Dawn" dish soap - not sure if you can get it where you live. I have also used "goo gone" with success.

What kind did you buy - others may want to stay away from it too.

GooGone is a good choice but if it is really sticky try Goof Off. It really works well but a word of caution, wear gloves or it will take your nail polish off too. Lesson learned the hard way, LOL

Oh, oh... I just ordered my first can of spray adhesive from shoppersrule.com
Is the 505 considered a cheap spray adhesive?

I chose it because it said is was fragrance free and a temporary adhesive.

Did I goof????
