Tracey what a blessing. It is simply amazing to know that Georgia's world just opened up in a whole new way. Babies are stimulated so much due to everything being bright and new...I bet she wondered what in the world you were doing today. What a great present. Praise God for his blessings.

Tracey how marvelous. Yrs ago I had a friend with a baby as yours is. She went through the deaf school & acadamy( they didn't have all the high tech equip. that they have now. I saw her learn to talk & do so many things . She's an adult now in her 40s & holds an extremely high paying job in New York City. Just goes to show there is no holding them back. Tracey, your story has made me so happy for you and your baby.

I know how you will be feeling right now. My son is also hearing impaired - profoundly deaf in the sibilant sounds and slightly less impaired with the lower sounds. It hasn't deterred him from 'life experiences' and he has a BA, BA(Hons) and just last year, was granted his MA degree in Politics and Directing (theatre and acting).

I remember the day he was first fitted with hearing aids at the age of four - until then he had been lip reading and talking but not clearly. I took him into a supermarket and he heard shop sounds for the first time. "Waza, waza," he kept saying, and that day he heard birds for the first time, too. At last he understood what was happening when I read stories to him.
He's now a playwright and actor.

He missed out on all those preschool stories and rhymes and songs I used to sing to him and language is so important to hearing impaired children.... but he made up for it with his new aids and I just had to keep on talking and reading to him.

My heart is singing for your little Georgia tonight because her world will now open up and she will just blossom.
This is just the best bedtime story I've heard for a long, long time.
